This field coat was made in 1943. It is sized as a 36R and includes the sizing tag. The jacket is made of green-beige wool and features two breast pockets and buckles to cinch the coat at the waist. It buttons up the front. The coat was made in the USA and was issued by the US Government. It is in good condition and has a small pinhole on the back.
The jacket includes this remarkable "fitting tag," which reads:Fitting:
1. Fit over: woolen undershirt, woolen shirt, high neck wool sweater
2. Provide for complete unobstructed movement of the arms.
3. Use waistband tabs to make necessary adjustments when weather requires wearing fewer layers of clothing. Always wear under the windproof, water-repellant Jacket, Field, M-1943, or equivalent when in use in the field.
